florence a look back
well its 12.45 am out here, i think about 3.45 in phx. tomorrow we head for Venice. so i wont bore you with anymore facts and straight to Florence..
we got in about 2 pm. Rome’s train station is so chaotic and it doesn’t help that no one speaks English, but oh well we made it to Florence and that’s all that matters. we arrive in Florence and head to the bus stop, hop on and a way we go.
our hostel (see above) is nice, its way out of the way so its a pain in the ass but i have mastered the Florence bus system go me! anyways, its an odd place, our hostel. its painted all weird and the guy who lives here Pierre is an odd one himself. but nice and that’s all that matters. its clean and i like it, except for being in the middle of bum *beep* Egypt, im practicing keeping my language on a pg level. anyways we laid down and took a brief nap and woke up to pouring rains. so it ruined our first night, we met some women from Canada and we all cooked dinner here and i talked to em. one of the girls wanted to know about our electoral college, so i explained it all i guess my government class really payed off. haha. she was amazed at it and didn’t understand why we couldn’t just do popular vote and i simply explained its the American way.
so we were supposed to meet Angela(the girl from AZ we met in Rome) outside her hotel at 8am on Thurs, but we overslept and missed her completely, we finally got a hold of her around 7 pm, she had a crappy day, ill explain all that later. so we saw all the sights once me and jay got up. it was still raining but with rain coat on and umbrellas in hand we were off. we saw all the major sights, blah blah, it was ok i still like Rome better, i wasn’t impressed it seemed too congested and way too much fumes. but i bought a pair of jeans at the market, yeah they didn’t fit so i wasted money, what can i do, just another story later on.
so anyways Florence is nice, but meh i don’t know what i was going to say. its a place you can see in a day and move on. good food though.
I went and met Angela down at the train station, we had coffee and mapped out our trip in Venice and in cinque terra, its right next to Pisa and only 2 hour train ride from Florence, yup thats right were going to Venice then back to Florence to go to Cinque Terra, but it will be worth it.
i cant wait for Switzerland, going skydiving and white water rapids, oh i cant wait!
so anyways we met up and mapped out Venice and tomorrow we will met in Venice and figure out our next stuff in Cinque Terra and in Nice. thats in France in case anyone was wondering and yes i spelled it correctly.
we get done its about 11.20 and i walk her to her hostel and…. yup i get lost, so i spend the next hour looking for a bus stop, finally i somehow do a GIANT circle and end up back at the train station, and get home. It was hell, but it was nice and i must say for being out at midnight i couldn’t have felt safer and the people were very nice, well the ones who tried to talked to me or i should say understand me. Half the time i was speaking in English and the other half a mix of Spanish and the limited Italian i have learned, but im working on it. i can fully order and talk to the waiters, go me!! but its late and im headed off to bed we have a 8.20 train to Venice to catch tomorrow.
