update on the adventure in crockpottery, chicken edition

The chicken turn out good. Not great, but good. Apparently after already putting the chicken in the pot with all the fixings and letting it cook for about an hour my father asks me if I cleaned and pulled out the neck and heart and all that. My answer was, “umm no?? there is stuff still inside this thing?” Ha, brilliant!

Anyway’s, it turned out good. I think the next time, besides cleaning it I will just leave out the potatoes. I really just wanted the chicken for other things later, like wraps and what not.

I ended up just shredding the meat and putting it in a container. It will make some good sandwiches and wraps for a few days.

Now I must head back to studying the muscles of the arm. Oh quick side note, I was able to successfully memorize the brachial plexus. I made it my bitch!

adventures in cooking chili

My Sunday started off like a typical day in Nashville so far; woke up, quick workout (100 push ups, 100 sit ups, dips, and pull ups on my stairs outside), ate breakfast (egg whites, toast, and a tomato), then parked it on my blow up mattress for some good ol TV time.

Its not that I am afraid to go out and adventure I just don’t feel like it. I want to wait for school to start and meet some people, hopefully ones that are new to Nashville as well. THEN go out and explore. Well at least the bars and the downtown. I think tomorrow after orientation I will drive to Radnor Lake State Park and go hike.

Anyway’s, enough about that. I decided to make some chili. Not just any chili. Oh no! I bought:

My first day in Nashville I went to the grocery store and picked up this packet of chili seasoning thinking I would make chili eventually. Well today was the day! So I went to the grocery store, the local Publix and picked up the needed ingredients.

Ground beef check! Can of beer check! Onions check! jalapeno check! sliced tomatoes check! chili mix check!

Got all the needed ingredients and I went to work. Turns out I am one damn fine chef! I made enough to feed myself tonight as well as having enough left over to fill 3 bowls. SO for the next 3 dinners I will be having, yup you guessed it… Chili! I think I might just start cooking up meals that make a lot of extras so it will cut down on my dinner costs as well as just make it easier on me.

Orientation for school is tomorrow! 9 am is a mandatory meeting then around noon we have to get our parking permits and ID cards. So it should be an eventful day. Then Tuesday starts school. I have heard from everyone that PT school is intense. I really don’t know what to expect so I just hope its everything I have wanted and expected it to be. Lets all cross our fingers.

Oh yea! On a side note. I get horrible reception in my apartment and even the surrounding areas, so I will be switching to Verizon sometime this week. Tmobile tries to tie me down with a 2 year contract! pff not so much buddy. Jackpot!
